Findings Lifecycle

Vulseek will create findings and change their statuses based on different criteria.

Findings Status

Each finding will be in one of four possible statuses.

The current status of a finding also defines which automatic status changes can occur.

All statuses can be modified manually.

Open

This is the status in which new findings are created.

Findings in this status can be changed to Fixed if a new scan does not report them as open or explicitly reports them as fixed.

Accepted

This indicates that, although the finding is correct, it is accepted by the organization.

This means that, at least for now, no action is intended to be taken to resolve it.

Findings in this state can only be changed manually.

Fixed

Indicates that the finding has been resolved.

Findings in this status can be changed to Open if they are discovered again.

Note: Findings related to data leaks are the only ones that do not change to Open status if they were marked as resolved.

False Positive

Used to indicate that the finding is incorrect.

Findings in this status can only be changed manually.

These findings will not be counted in the asset's finding counters.

Findings deletion

Vulseek can automatically delete findings if they have been in Open or Accepted status for a long time. For more information, see the section on Automatic Data Cleaning.
